Hey! Are you an Athens Drive High School student?
Do you want to know how
one-on-one personal coaching
can help you manage your weight?
THIS PAGE IS FOR YOU!
Do you know that 38% of teens in the US try to lose weight each year? That is a high percentage and maybe you're one of them. At least you're not alone, right?
Have you tried exercising, drinking lots of water, fad diets, skipping meals, or other ways to get your weight where you want it, only to return to your former habits after a few weeks or months?
If you've been frustrated with past attempts to get your weight under control, don't give up.
Eating right isn't about willpower.
It's about skillpower!
You already have skills you use every day to be successful in other areas of your life. Instead of focusing on what you think your weaknesses are, I challenge you to focus on your strengths and use your strengths to develop the healthy habits needed to manage your weight. You can do it!
I'm here to help you.

Take some time to check out my website (just keep in mind it is written for parents because, after all, they are the ones who pay me). Please notice that I agree with the American Academy of Pediatrics that teens should not be put on a diet or even try to lose weight unless their BMI reaches the 95th percentile. And even then, weight loss should be slow and careful, making sure you get all the nutrients your growing body and mind need. Read my blog post to parents on this subject here: Helping Your Overweight Child - It's Not What You Think.
I don't think anyone, including adults, should go on a diet to lose weight. Decades of research has shown that dieting doesn't work for long and usually dieters end up gaining all their weight back, and more, when they can no longer sustain the restrictive, tasteless, and unpleasant diet they were on. Instead, I help teens focus on making healthful choices and developing lifelong habits of physical activity and nutritious eating. The natural result is achieving and maintaining a healthy weight.
You are unique and your approach to weight management will also be unique. We'll work together to find the approach that works best for you.
HAVE YOU SEEN THIS BOOK IN YOUR SCHOOL LIBRARY?
Experience has taught me teens are remarkably clever and dedicated when it comes to managing their weight. You are able to quickly absorb knowledge and devise a plan that works for you.
Weight Loss Confidential tells the stories of 104 different and unique teenagers who found ways to successfully manage their weight. The teens used a variety of strategies to lose weight and keep the weight off without resorting to "dieting." I've written a list of their most used strategies here.
Want to read about other teenagers' experiences? This book is available in your very own Athens Drive High School library. Go check it out!
